چکیده

This paper tries to address a problem faced by a proportion of community the paralysed people, and investigates a solution in calibrating a camera used for the purpose of eye detection. The eye tracking is later used to read characters from a partner-assisted keyboard. As such, this keyboard solves the problem of immobility. In order to calibrate camera for the purpose of eye detection, two approaches are implemented-Artificial Neural Networks and Support Vector Machines in context of paralysed people, and are discussed in detail in this paper. The results of both approaches are compared in order to select the best approach to be used in keyboard that operates on eye tracking.

A Simple Real-Time Eye Tracking and Calibration Approach for Autostereoscopic 3D Displays

In this paper a simple eye tracking and calibration approach for glasses-free stereoscopic 3D displays is presented that requires only one ordinary camera for tracking. The approach is designed for the use with parallax barrier based screens, but should with(out) limitations also be usable with other autostereoscopic screens. The robust eye tracking approach can easily be reimplemented and is b...

Experimental Analysis of Camera Calibration Techniques Used for Eye Tracking

This paper discusses the calibration phase required prior to working of any gesture recognition or eye tracking devices. The calibration phase is an starting phase of eye tracking system. Prior to tracking phase, calibration (for eye detection) is required. Four methods have been tried in this paper, namely: using a box, multiple frames, laser and neural networks. The results of implementing ea...

Hand–eye calibration using a target registration error model

Surgical cameras are prevalent in modern operating theatres and are often used as a surrogate for direct vision. Visualisation techniques (e.g. image fusion) made possible by tracking the camera require accurate hand-eye calibration between the camera and the tracking system. The authors introduce the concept of 'guided hand-eye calibration', where calibration measurements are facilitated by a ...

Eye-GUIDE (Eye-Gaze User Interface Design) Messaging for Physically-Impaired People

Eye-GUIDE is an assistive communication tool designed for the paralyzed or physically impaired people who were unable to move parts of their bodies especially people whose communications are limited only to eye movements. The prototype consists of a camera and a computer. Camera captures images then it will be send to the computer, where the computer will be the one to interpret the data. Thus,...

Calibration-Free Hand-Eye Calibration: A Structure-from-Motion Approach

The paper presents an extended hand-eye calibration approach that, in contrast to the standard method, does not require a calibration pattern for determining camera position and orientation. Instead, a structure-from-motion algorithm is applied for obtaining the eye-data that is necessary for computing the unknown hand-eye transformation. Different ways of extending the standard algorithm are p...
